Empirical - How do you know?
Empirical method: any method of conducting an investigation that relies upon experimentation and systematic observations rather than theoretical speculation. (APA Dictionary of Psychology)
Correlational - How do you know?
Correlational study: a study of relationships between two or more variables. (APA Dictionary of Psychology)

- Limiters - Peer-reviewed, Peer-reviewed journal, Date, Publication year: 2000, Methodology: Empirical study
- Full-text
- Boolean - AND, OR, NOT /see Subjects column in result list
- Field searching - Subject (Look up the subject in the thesaurus or subjects before you limit to subject field)
- Quotation marks for exact phrase
- Asterisk to retrieve all forms of a word: correlat* retrieves correlate; correlational; correlated; etc.
